Responsibilities
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools like Airflow and dbt
- Building and maintaining RESTful APIs that expose data to internal teams and integrate with third-party services
- Collaborating on data modelling, storage solutions, and integration patterns that support analytics and business needs
- Implementing validation, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure data reliability
- Continuously improving pipeline efficiency, query performance, and cost optimisation
- Working closely with Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Luigi, or similar)
- Experience with modern data stack tools (dbt, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar)
- Understanding of data modelling principles
- Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, CI/CD)
- Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub)
- Knowledge of streaming data technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink)
- Experience with API frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
- Familiarity with ML frameworks and building data pipelines for ML use cases
- Background in event-driven architectures and real-time data processing
- Experience in the Food Tech, restaurant, or SaaS industry
- Experience with containerisation (Docker)
