About the role

  • Data Engineer responsible for building scalable data pipelines for commerce solutions at Deliverect. Join our team to drive innovation and empower the food and retail industries.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools like Airflow and dbt
  • Building and maintaining RESTful APIs that expose data to internal teams and integrate with third-party services
  • Collaborating on data modelling, storage solutions, and integration patterns that support analytics and business needs
  • Implementing validation, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure data reliability
  • Continuously improving pipeline efficiency, query performance, and cost optimisation
  • Working closely with Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Luigi, or similar)
  • Experience with modern data stack tools (dbt, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar)
  • Understanding of data modelling principles
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, CI/CD)
  • Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub)
  • Knowledge of streaming data technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink)
  • Experience with API frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks and building data pipelines for ML use cases
  • Background in event-driven architectures and real-time data processing
  • Experience in the Food Tech, restaurant, or SaaS industry
  • Experience with containerisation (Docker)
