About the role

  • Data Center Infrastructure & Space Design Architect responsible for planning and designing mission-critical data center environments. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for high reliability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, layout, and technical design of mission-critical data center environments.
  • Ensure that architectural concepts support high reliability, operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance with owner requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop holistic solutions from concept through construction and turnover.
  • Develop floor plans, equipment layouts, and circulation paths for data halls.
  • Integrate architectural designs with mechanical cooling systems, electrical power distribution, grounding, fire protection, and structured cabling pathways.
  • Develop and enforce data center design standards, owner technical specifications, ADA compliance, and IBC/NFPA code adherence.
  • Prepare design packages: schematic diagrams, design narratives, basis of design, and construction drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters in Architecture (B.Arch / M.Arch), NCARB preferred.
  • 710+ years in mission-critical, healthcare, laboratory, or large technical facility design; data center experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
  • Knowledge of data center cooling strategies, raised floors, and cable tray systems.
  • Understanding of Tier III/IV infrastructure and uptime requirements.
  • LEED AP, CDT, Uptime ATD, or similar certifications preferred.
