About the role

  • Develop and oversee content strategies and event agendas for a portfolio of in-person and online events aligned with the climate agenda
  • Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competitor activity, and sector challenges. Translate insights into commercially attractive agendas, topics, and sessions
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to produce session content, interviews, speaker scripts, and production briefs
  • Craft compelling event narratives to attract high-level speakers, sponsors, partners, and target audiences, delivered through sponsorship and marketing briefs
  • Plan and manage the full production lifecycle of events, ensuring timely delivery, accurate milestone tracking, and achieving goals
  • Identify, invite, and manage high-level speakers and moderators. Secure global climate leaders and influential voices through sector expertise
  • Oversee end-to-end event execution and post-event analysis to ensure smooth delivery and continuous improvement
  • Continuously explore and validate new themes to support timely event launches throughout the year
  • Prepare briefing documents and coordinate all speaker sessions for seamless delivery
  • Collaborate with the sales team to secure partners and coordinate sponsorship participation
  • Lead the development of event briefs for marketing, sales, and operations teams
  • Establish content and speaker inventories to support revenue targets
  • Design and implement strategies for audience acquisition and engagement
  • Deliver exceptional service to partners, speakers, and stakeholders, resolving issues promptly
  • Monitor content strategies and event milestones to meet KPIs
  • Write promotional copy for marketing campaigns and editorial content
  • Keep event websites up to date with speakers, partners, sessions, and key information
  • Manage onsite event execution, ensuring all objectives and expectations are met
  • Conduct evaluations and produce detailed reports on event outcomes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience creating, managing and delivering international B2B conferences funded by sponsorship and delegate or membership revenue streams; ideally in sustainability, climate change, energy or agriculture
  • Experience in a single market sector, including evidence of strong relationships with key players across the industry, such as sustainable innovation, energy transition, investment, hydrogen, supply chains and climate policy
  • Proven success in launching, producing, and delivering events in both live and online formats
  • Alignment with Climate Action’s mission and our business objectives
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and organised; able to work independently to deliver tasks and achieve project objectives
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude with flexibility to work independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with climate change, environmental policy, and sustainability frameworks
  • Exposure to climate-related issues, especially in the context of:
  • Sustainability and environmental governance
  • Subnational climate commitments (e.g., city or regional initiatives)
  • The UNFCCC COP process and international climate negotiations
  • Academic or professional background in sustainability, climate science, or related fields is advantageous
