About the role
- Commercial Counsel providing legal support for negotiating high volume contracts at IFF. Collaborating across teams to deliver strategic legal advice in fast-paced international environment.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate a high volume of stand-alone commercial contracts
- Provide legal transactional support to various businesses, advising on legal considerations and risk mitigation strategies in connection with preparation and review of legal agreements
- Embedded member of a business team, participating in development of, and directly impacting strategic decisions for your business
- Direct strategic initiatives for your business through effective counselling on global commercial challenges facing food and pharma markets
- Ability to issue spot and collaborate with legal subject matter experts and other legal colleagues is critical
- Attend frequent calls with internal business clients and maintain strong working relationship with both internal clients and external counterparts
- Engaging with cross-functional teams and matrix partners (e.g., Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Procurement, Communications) to drive agendas and effectively communicate complex information in clear and concise terms
- Partnering with the Corporate, Regulatory and Compliance to, among other things, provide guidance of regional corporate matters and ensure policies and standard operating procedures are fit-for purpose
- Managing outside counsel in limited circumstances
Requirements
- Law degree from a reputable university in Europe
- Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience - combination of top-tier law firm experience, and in-house commercial legal position in an international company preferred
- Fluency in English and at least one other European language
- Collaborative and able to adapt to multiple competing priorities
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated through interactions with team, clients and third parties
- Sound judgment and discretion
- Ability to engage proactively across a broad range of client group
