Responsibilities
- Database installation, configuration, security and password management
- Performance and cost monitoring, optimization
- Define backup, disaster recovery plans and policies, execute them
- Define and implement database policies, establish standards for database usage, data lifecycle management
- Data migration and replication
- Automating routine operations (backups, maintenance tasks, etc.), configuring and monitoring tasks that run automatically on the database.
- Ensure that business objectives are met and adhere to service level agreements (SLA).
- Participate in an on-call rotation; lead incident response for DB-related alerts.
- Maintain up-to-date runbooks, topology diagrams, and inventory of data stores.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of similar job experience
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience in PostgreSQL (RDS, AURORA), MongoDB, MySQL, Couchbase, DynamoDB, RedShift, InfluxDB, Apache Solr
- Experience in network, security, monitoring, compute, containerization, data, application integration, cost optimization, performance enhancement services and technologies on cloud or onpremises.
- Fluent in written and spoken English
