About the role
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team to take innovative design solutions from proposal stage through to constructed projects across a wide variety of sectors.
- Prepare civil drawings and details from conception to final design in a 3D modelling environment such as Civil 3D according to established standards and procedures.
- Model linear utilities, site grading, and site servicing plans; prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings covering all facets of civil engineering.
- Provide input and knowledge on civil design best practices and on design elements.
- Perform QA/QC of models and drawings for standards compliance and discipline coordination.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and lead small teams of professionals and technical staff as required.
- Produce general arrangement drawings and complete 3D model development for construction deliverables.
Requirements
- Technician/Technologist with Civil Engineering Technology diploma; background in Civil Engineering is considered an asset.
- 5 to 8 years of civil design, drafting, and modelling experience.
- High proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (mandatory).
- Experience with quality control (QA/QC) of models and drawings for standards compliance and discipline coordination.
- Experience with 2D modelling and drawings in AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD system.
- Extensive experience with 3D model development and production of general arrangement drawings.
- Superior attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a team environment, including leadership of small teams of professionals and technical staff.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with RTK-GPS and RPAS surveys is considered an asset.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; fluency in French is considered an asset.
