About the role

  • Collaborate with sales, design, and engineering departments to engage in client discovery sessions.
  • Participate in project design meetings with clients, conduct site surveys, and create detailed assessment reports.
  • Analyze user needs and requirements to ensure design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  • Develop comprehensive AV and Control design packages including concept block diagrams, system CAD drawings, design narratives, programming specifications, performance specifications, and budget estimates for each project phase.
  • Communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams, and creative teams.
  • Provide technical oversight, network implementation, system configuration, red lines, as-built drawings, and commissioning procedures.
  • Assist programmers with technical direction in developing user interfaces and control programs.
  • Support account executives in preparing consultant-specified bids and submittals.
  • Address design questions during system integration and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of network design methods applied to AV systems, including routing, VLANs, QoS, IGMP, and PTP.
  • Proficiency in control system architecture, programming, implementation, and testing for platforms such as Medialon, Q-SYS, Node-Red, and Crestron.
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Lua, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Experience with audio and video processing systems, including Q-SYS, Barco E2, and Analog Way Aquilon.
  • Familiarity with media servers (e.g., Pixera, 7th Sense, Disguise, Green Hippo, Watchout) and generative engines (e.g., Touch Designer, Notch, Unreal) is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Vectorworks.
  • Familiarity with MS Visio or OmniGraffle is desired.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to write scope of work, design narratives, and other technical documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to establish professional relationships.
  • Excellent organizational, work management, and time management skills.
  • Self-driven with a proactive approach.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Engineering program or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the Audio-Visual commercial solution/services industry preferred.
  • A Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or CTS-I or CTS-D certification is a plus.
  • Languages: English mandatory.
