About the role

• Application Engineer driving smart water solutions at Xylem. Involves technical support, project execution, and training in water and wastewater industry.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, and execute cutting-edge controls and SCADA projects across the water and wastewater industry.
• Provide expert technical support for Xylem’s full ADS portfolio — including controllers, PLCs (Programming), VFDs, level sensors, SCADA systems and advanced telemetry and instrumentation platforms.
• Deliver training, on-site assistance, and responsive project support to Xylem teams, resellers, and end users.
• Work with inside and outside sales, internal colleagues, distributors, consulting engineers, or others to develop understanding of the consulting request.
• Research and gather data in order to understand how to meet the requestor's consulting need and/or solve the problem.
• Provide remote and on-site support to resolve Xylem customer controls issues using multi-meter or other handheld tools.
• Conduct ADS Training Seminars and assist field staff by presenting classroom-style training sessions on standard product assortment.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in industrial controls applications with a strong knowledge of PLCs, telemetry, distributed control networks and industry standard communications protocols.
• Experience in industrial electrical systems
• Experience with industrial electrical control panels, VFD’s, PLCs, SCADA systems and other electronic systems and instrumentation.
• Working knowledge in water/wastewater processes, including pumping and various treatment equipment and/or similar industrial industries.
• 2+ years of CAD software experience
• Field service experience highly desirable.
• Ability to work to quality-driven standards and in a safe and professional manner.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and team player.
• Highly motivated with excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong customer focus and engagement to ensure optimum working relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
