About the role
- Perform routine tasks such as log reviews, patch verifications, hardware checks, and inventory updates.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting basic system metrics (CPU, memory, disk usage).
- Support ticket handling for first-line infrastructure incidents and requests.
- Document system configurations, operational procedures, and user instructions.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and learn change control processes.
- Observe and begin applying ITIL-based practices (incident, change, asset).
- Shadow senior team members to gain exposure to real-time troubleshooting and resolution.
- Begin learning infrastructure tools (e.g., VMware vSphere, basic Linux/Windows commands).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in progress or recently completed in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, hardware components, and operating systems.
- Introductory knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments.
- Familiarity with IT concepts such as networking, storage, and virtualization (can be theoretical).
- Willingness to learn command-line interfaces and basic scripting concepts.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Proactive attitude and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in progress or recently completed in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
