Derivatives Accounting & Operations Associate overseeing client onboarding and regulatory reporting. Managing process improvements and working with cross-functional teams in a hybrid setting.
Responsibilities
Manage deliverables: generate, audit, and upload accounting, operational & regulatory reports with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Troubleshooting any issues independently.
Manage client inquiries within department SLAs and working with SMEs as needed.
Interact with sales and client services teams to address data and reporting questions.
Manage contract creation and user access to client reporting portals.
Lead and manage the SOC1 process with external auditors.
Support automation and reporting projects in collaboration with the Derivatives Accounting and Analytics teams.
Prototype new reports and liaise with the Technology team to support development efforts.
Managing IT priorities.
Assist in building quality control and reconciliation checks to strengthen reporting accuracy.
Work with internal teams to integrate data across groups and platforms.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, STEM, or related field
3-5 years’ experience in derivatives or financial service operations
Hands-on experience with hedge accounting standards and derivatives accounting
Strong understanding of interest rate derivatives
Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
High emotional intelligence and professional demeanor; able to build trust and maintain confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA, SQL, or Bloomberg (MARS, HEFF, SWPM) is a plus
Strong aptitude for learning technical software solutions
Required to complete registration as an Associated Person with the NFA within 120 days of hire date.
