About the role
- Derivatives Accounting & Operations Associate overseeing client onboarding and regulatory reporting. Managing process improvements and working with cross-functional teams in a hybrid setting.
Responsibilities
- Manage deliverables: generate, audit, and upload accounting, operational & regulatory reports with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Troubleshooting any issues independently.
- Manage client inquiries within department SLAs and working with SMEs as needed.
- Interact with sales and client services teams to address data and reporting questions.
- Manage contract creation and user access to client reporting portals.
- Lead and manage the SOC1 process with external auditors.
- Support automation and reporting projects in collaboration with the Derivatives Accounting and Analytics teams.
- Prototype new reports and liaise with the Technology team to support development efforts.
- Managing IT priorities.
- Assist in building quality control and reconciliation checks to strengthen reporting accuracy.
- Work with internal teams to integrate data across groups and platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, STEM, or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in derivatives or financial service operations
- Hands-on experience with hedge accounting standards and derivatives accounting
- Strong understanding of interest rate derivatives
- Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- High emotional intelligence and professional demeanor; able to build trust and maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA, SQL, or Bloomberg (MARS, HEFF, SWPM) is a plus
- Strong aptitude for learning technical software solutions
- Required to complete registration as an Associated Person with the NFA within 120 days of hire date.
