About the role

  • Derivatives Accounting & Operations Associate overseeing client onboarding and regulatory reporting. Managing process improvements and working with cross-functional teams in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage deliverables: generate, audit, and upload accounting, operational & regulatory reports with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Troubleshooting any issues independently.
  • Manage client inquiries within department SLAs and working with SMEs as needed.
  • Interact with sales and client services teams to address data and reporting questions.
  • Manage contract creation and user access to client reporting portals.
  • Lead and manage the SOC1 process with external auditors.
  • Support automation and reporting projects in collaboration with the Derivatives Accounting and Analytics teams.
  • Prototype new reports and liaise with the Technology team to support development efforts.
  • Managing IT priorities.
  • Assist in building quality control and reconciliation checks to strengthen reporting accuracy.
  • Work with internal teams to integrate data across groups and platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, STEM, or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in derivatives or financial service operations
  • Hands-on experience with hedge accounting standards and derivatives accounting
  • Strong understanding of interest rate derivatives
  • Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • High emotional intelligence and professional demeanor; able to build trust and maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA, SQL, or Bloomberg (MARS, HEFF, SWPM) is a plus
  • Strong aptitude for learning technical software solutions
  • Required to complete registration as an Associated Person with the NFA within 120 days of hire date.
