About the role
- Proxy Voting Analyst supporting Responsible Investment reporting and proxy voting strategies at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Engaging with stakeholders and collaborating on stewardship rights.
Responsibilities
- Support Responsible Investment reporting and focus on proxy voting for the firm’s investment strategies
- Formulation, development and delivery of the global proxy voting strategy and approach
- Focus on stewardship research, engagement, and proxy voting
- Work with and support global investments in proxy voting strategy
- Participate in research, coordination, and application of stewardship rights on behalf of clients
- Research and review third-party and internal investment and proxy research
- Interpret and apply the firm’s custom proxy voting policy to proxy proposals
- Liaise and collaborate with fundamental analysts and portfolio managers
- Initiate and undertake proxy-related engagement with senior leaders at portfolio companies
- Collaborate with research team to educate and prioritize implementation of voting rights
- Coordinate and maintain the firm’s proxy guidelines and voting policy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/economics/engineering or any related fields, and/or data management experience
- 1 – 3 years prior experience in the securities industry; investment experience as a research analyst or in an analyst support role
- Familiarity with ESG concepts from the investor perspective
- Experience with operational functions, execution of proxy voting and issuer engagement, ESG or sustainability
- Experience working with ISS Proxy Exchange (or Glass Lewis)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and relationship building skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and in a team environment
