About the role

  • Carry out customer due diligence (CDD) and KYC checks based on a risk-based approach.
  • Perform risk assessments of new and existing customers.
  • Provide support to colleagues on AML-related queries.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of KYC steps/controls in customer processes.
  • Provide legal and regulatory input on AML in customer processes.
  • Draft manuals in line with Svea’s internal AML regulations.
  • Act as local responsible party for implementing AML regulations and models.
  • Perform self-assessments and quality checks.
  • Identify and report risks and deficiencies, proposing improvements.
  • Participate in threat and vulnerability analyses, including documentation and statistics.
  • Prepare KPI reports.
  • Train employees on new AML/CTF routines and processes.
  • Assist the Complaints Officer and Legal Department in cases of rejected or terminated customer relationships.
  • Decide on customer relationships under AML regulations where no higher authorisation is required.
  • Ensure quality of documentation when terminating customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Academic degree in economics, law, or another relevant field
  • At least 3–4 years’ experience in a similar AML role
  • At least 3–4 years’ experience in the banking or financial services industry
  • Excellent knowledge of AML regulations and risk-based approaches
  • Experience in process development projects
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex investigations
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Completed fit and proper assessment according to applicable regulations
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Other languages are a plus
