Senior Business Analyst in Commercial Insurance at Zurich Insurance Group. Driving analysis activities and building relationships across various insurance functions in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Act as a trusted partner to business stakeholders, building strong relationships across underwriting, operations, distribution, and other commercial insurance functions
Proactively identify business needs, inefficiencies, and opportunities, even when requirements are not clearly defined
Lead end-to-end business analysis activities, including: Requirements elicitation (workshops, interviews, document analysis), Functional and non-functional requirement definition, Process modeling and optimization, Impact and gap analysis
Translate complex business requirements into clear, structured documentation (business requirements, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria)
Ensure alignment between business objectives and IT delivery, working closely with product owners, developers, architects, and testers
Support solution design by validating that proposed solutions meet Zurich’s business, regulatory, and operational needs
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, bringing structure, clarity, and best practices to the BA discipline
Operate effectively in an environment where priorities may evolve and where ambiguity is part of the role
Requirements
Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally within commercial insurance or financial services
Strong understanding of insurance business concepts, such as underwriting, policy lifecycle, pricing, claims, or distribution
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex topics clearly
High level of autonomy and ownership – able to drive work forward without constant direction
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of engaging both business and technical audiences
Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Nice to Have: Experience working with Salesforce or Salesforce-based insurance platforms (e.g., CRM, policy or distribution solutions)
Exposure to Agile or hybrid delivery models
Familiarity with data-driven analysis, reporting, or integration-heavy environments
