About the role
- Senior Business Analyst in Commercial Insurance at Zurich Insurance Group. Driving analysis activities and building relationships across various insurance functions in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted partner to business stakeholders, building strong relationships across underwriting, operations, distribution, and other commercial insurance functions
- Proactively identify business needs, inefficiencies, and opportunities, even when requirements are not clearly defined
- Lead end-to-end business analysis activities, including: Requirements elicitation (workshops, interviews, document analysis), Functional and non-functional requirement definition, Process modeling and optimization, Impact and gap analysis
- Translate complex business requirements into clear, structured documentation (business requirements, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria)
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and IT delivery, working closely with product owners, developers, architects, and testers
- Support solution design by validating that proposed solutions meet Zurich’s business, regulatory, and operational needs
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, bringing structure, clarity, and best practices to the BA discipline
- Operate effectively in an environment where priorities may evolve and where ambiguity is part of the role
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally within commercial insurance or financial services
- Strong understanding of insurance business concepts, such as underwriting, policy lifecycle, pricing, claims, or distribution
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex topics clearly
- High level of autonomy and ownership – able to drive work forward without constant direction
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of engaging both business and technical audiences
- Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Nice to Have: Experience working with Salesforce or Salesforce-based insurance platforms (e.g., CRM, policy or distribution solutions)
- Exposure to Agile or hybrid delivery models
- Familiarity with data-driven analysis, reporting, or integration-heavy environments
