About the role
- Data Scientist Intern collaborating on data platform features and analysis at Zurich's Technology Delivery Center in Barcelona. Engaging in innovative projects with a tech-driven team in a vibrant workspace.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with platform and solution engineers to design and develop new data platform features.
- Build and prototype data-driven logic for automated classification, detection, and quality assessment.
- Analyze structured and semi-structured datasets to validate feature behavior and performance.
- Implement and test algorithms, rules, and heuristics to improve accuracy and reliability.
- Support integration of data science components into existing platform services and pipelines.
- Evaluate results, identify edge cases, and iterate to reduce errors and improve robustness.
- Contribute to documentation, technical specifications, and knowledge sharing.
- Work alongside experts in various technological domains.

Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
- Strong Python fundamentals and ability to write clean, maintainable code.
- Solid understanding of data structures, schemas, and common data formats.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning, statistics, and classification concepts.
- Experience with SQL and data exploration techniques.
- Ability to design and reason about deterministic logic such as rules, heuristics, and pattern matching.
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and comfort working with ambiguous or imperfect data.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers.
- Active student status with a Spanish University/School is mandatory.

- Available for at least a 6-month part-time/internship program.
