About the role
- Senior Financial Analyst managing financial planning and analysis at Seaspan Shipyards. Responsible for budgeting, forecasts, and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted finance business partner to cross-functional leaders
- Partner with the NSS Program Finance team to oversee forecasts, budgets, and program financial models
- Lead the preparation and delivery of business reviews, management reporting, and executive-level presentations
- Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment evaluation
- Maintain and enhance cash flow and balance sheet projections
- Collaborate with Controllership and other finance areas for timely financial reporting
- Serve as a key FP&A subject matter expert in EPBCS/Oracle EPM
- Strengthen FP&A continuity through shared expertise and collaborative workflows
- Drive process improvement by standardizing, automating, and optimizing forecasting and reporting processes
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as required
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of integrated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive FP&A experience in a large, complex organization
- Demonstrated expertise in long-term forecasting, multi-year financial modeling, and scenario analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to operate in complex, multi-module ERP environment
- Experience with FP&A and performance management systems, such as Oracle EPM
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills
