About the role

  • Senior Financial Analyst managing financial planning and analysis at Seaspan Shipyards. Responsible for budgeting, forecasts, and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted finance business partner to cross-functional leaders
  • Partner with the NSS Program Finance team to oversee forecasts, budgets, and program financial models
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of business reviews, management reporting, and executive-level presentations
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment evaluation
  • Maintain and enhance cash flow and balance sheet projections
  • Collaborate with Controllership and other finance areas for timely financial reporting
  • Serve as a key FP&A subject matter expert in EPBCS/Oracle EPM
  • Strengthen FP&A continuity through shared expertise and collaborative workflows
  • Drive process improvement by standardizing, automating, and optimizing forecasting and reporting processes
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as required

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of integrated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive FP&A experience in a large, complex organization
  • Demonstrated expertise in long-term forecasting, multi-year financial modeling, and scenario analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to operate in complex, multi-module ERP environment
  • Experience with FP&A and performance management systems, such as Oracle EPM
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
