About the role

  • Architect responsible for firmware architecture and development in automotive IoT solutions. Leading development team and collaborating with product stakeholders in agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Being accountable for the architecture of BusConnect's gateways firmware and design during the full life cycle of the solutions with continuous improvement of architecture standards and guidelines.
  • Work closely with our Product and Platform/Application Development team, incorporate new ideas and requirements to the firmware architecture and help product stakeholders to define a good roadmap.
  • Design and develop scalable, future-oriented and operationally efficient architectural concepts, solutions and code.
  • Act as a lateral leader for our small FW development team by working side-by-side with the team and coaching team members. Nurture a collaborative environment and foster transparency. Follow agile development methodologies & lean principles (e.g., Scrum)
  • Facilitate timely technical decisions based on expert-sparring and development of options/scenarios. Drive buy-in by clearly communicating decision-making rationale.
  • Be responsible for cyber-security design of the firmware components.

Requirements

  • Computer Science master’s degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years architecture experience working in an agile environment plus min of 5 years experience in hardware/firmware development
  • Good knowledge of embedded Linux technologies, communication and telemetry protocols, serialization standards and connectivity solutions. Knowledge of C++ development on Linux. Knowledge of scripting (Bash/Python).
  • Experience in system design (Linux distribution), ability to deliver end-to-end solutions by coordinating between HW/SW and cloud teams, knowledge in HW and solutions related cyber security approaches, standards and certifications, exposure to firmware telemetry toolsets and strategies
  • Knowledge of automobile standards and data systems
  • Experience in consultative selling, project management, cost estimation and passion to design and develop IoT solutions
  • Previous experience in leading, coaching and guiding agile teams (indirect reports) to nurture and foster empowerment and collaboration. Passionate about people development and empowered teams
  • Excellent communication skills in general and very good English skills.
