About the role

  • (Senior) Architect AWS Data Management responsible for AWS data architectures and leading teams in the automotive industry transformation. Develops data management principles and integrates external tools within AWS environments.

Responsibilities

  • You lead development teams in the context of data management and design scalable, multi-tenant-capable AWS data architectures with a focus on AWS DataZone and Lake Formation
  • You develop standards and policies for data access, data sharing, and data cataloging in close coordination with data owners and business units
  • You integrate external tools, such as Collibra, into the AWS environment to ensure seamless data management and high data quality
  • You promote decentralization and automation of data management tasks by enabling self-service solutions for teams and business units
  • You are responsible for creating, evolving, and rolling out principles and policies for handling data
  • You define, continuously update, and enforce group-wide (process) standards and policies in data management in close collaboration with data owners, business units, and management functions
  • You participate in or steer data management activities originating from decentralized projects and ensure ongoing alignment with the central data management team
  • You model business and data objects and transfer them into the group-wide data catalog using AWS DataZone
  • You are responsible for organizing, preparing, and moderating data-governance-oriented committees

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of AWS data services, especially Glue, S3, Redshift, and RDS databases (ideally also AWS DataZone and Lake Formation)
  • General AWS expertise (IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, KMS, EventBridge, Step Functions, Secrets Manager, ...)
  • Experience leading development teams and implementing data domains and data products
  • Understanding of data management principles, practices, and technologies
  • Competence in managing and implementing data access and data sharing processes
  • Experience implementing standards and rules for data catalog management
  • Knowledge of data quality and lifecycle management and experience implementing data governance KPIs
  • Solid understanding of business processes in complex automotive organizations
  • Skills in integrating third-party tools (e.g., Collibra) into AWS architectures
  • Ability to assertively represent our clients' interests and to act as a reliable guide in data governance and data management
  • Independent, structured working style and strong communication skills, with the ability to bring together diverse stakeholders — including across hierarchical levels
  • German and English language skills at a minimum of C1 level are mandatory for this position
