About the role

  • Engineer for AquaRevier project developing climate impact simulations and reservoir management. Conduct interdisciplinary research and contribute to water resource protection strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Development of an integrated modeling system (TALSIM) to simulate hydrological variations resulting from climate change and reservoir management
  • Updating and project-specific calibration of hydrological models for reservoir catchment areas
  • Incorporation of current climate projections to determine future inflow availability
  • Modeling the impacts of future inflow scenarios on reservoir management
  • Development of alternative reservoir management rules
  • Conceptual review of existing transfer options and analysis of additional usage potentials as well as possible expansions within the reservoir network
  • Derivation of adaptation options for a climate- and structural-change-resilient reservoir management to secure water resources and flood protection
  • Independent scientific contribution to the research project and collaboration within an interdisciplinary research partnership

Requirements

  • Master's or Diplom degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or a comparable field
  • Knowledge of hydrological modeling of river catchments is advantageous
  • Ideally, initial experience in reservoir operations/management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as an independent, conceptual, and structured working approach
