About the role
- Engineer for the AquaRevier research project focused on hydrological variations and reservoir management. Requires a master's degree in environmental engineering or related fields, with simulation model experience.
Responsibilities
- Development of an integrated modelling system to simulate hydrological variations resulting from climate change and reservoir operation (TALSIM)
- Updating and project-specific calibration of hydrological modelling for reservoir catchment areas
- Incorporation of current climate projections to determine future inflow availability
- Modelling the impacts of future inflow scenarios on reservoir management (including TALSIM) and development of alternative management rules
- Conceptual assessment of existing transfer options and analysis of additional usage potential as well as possible expansions within the reservoir network
- Derivation of adaptation options for climate- and structural-change-resilient reservoir management to secure water resources and flood protection
- Independent scientific contribution to the research project and collaboration within an interdisciplinary research team
Requirements
- Master's or Diplom degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Civil Engineering or a comparable field
- Knowledge of hydrological modelling of river catchments is an advantage
- Ideally, initial experience in reservoir operation/management
- Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, and an independent, conceptual and structured way of working
