About the role

  • Director overseeing the operations of MSU Maccess, supporting students with disability-related resources. Ensuring the Service operates within budget, creating events, and delivering programming.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of MSU Maccess and ensure it operates within budgetary resources
  • Create and deliver programming, events, and campaigns for MSU students
  • Serve as critical source of insight on disability and accessibility
  • Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for Service users and community members

Requirements

  • Current MSU member
  • Mental health support credentials (e.g., SafeTalk, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, WRAP, Peer Support Accreditation, etc.) are an asset.
  • Awareness and understanding of topics associated with the Service (e.g., intersectionality, critical disability theory, dis-/ableism, in-/accessibility, human rights, disability history, intersecting oppression, etc.)
  • Experience as a manager/supervisor/team leader
  • Experience as a volunteer/employee/Service user with MSU Maccess is preferred.
