About the role

• Senior Full-Stack Engineer developing core backend and frontend systems at a growing startup. Collaborating closely with the CTO and working in a hybrid environment in Frankfurt.

Responsibilities

• Backend & APIs (Django): Build and continuously evolve backend systems and APIs in Django
• Own architecture decisions: scalability, reliability, maintainability
• Frontend (React): Implement features in the React frontend (UI, state, integration)
• Improve performance and developer experience
• Design clean interfaces between frontend and backend
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Apply clean code, design patterns, and system design consistently
• Refactor large parts of the codebase to increase long-term maintainability — using modern tools like Claude
• Systematically expand testing/QA (unit, integration, end-to-end — depending on the area)
• Actively use and develop AI-assisted development workflows (iterate faster, improve quality, automate)

Requirements

• Strong experience in full-stack development. Both backend and frontend are important
• Excellent skills in React (component architecture, state management, performance, clean patterns)
• Excellent backend skills (Django, APIs, data modeling)
• Solid understanding of architecture, design patterns, and clean-code principles
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD (build pipelines, tests, deployments, release processes)
• Strong testing and QA practices
• Familiarity with modern toolchains and workflows — including AI-assisted development
• Bonus: Exposure to Go and/or Rust (or strong curiosity), as we may expand parts of the system in those languages
