About the role

  • Graduate Project Controller in Perth with an engineering consulting firm involved in critical metals projects. Assisting in project planning and tracking progress while engaging with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with project planning, including developing project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Tracking project progress and ensuring that project milestones are met on time.
  • Monitoring project budget and expenses and identifying potential cost overruns.
  • Creating and maintaining project documentation, such as project plans, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Communicating project status and progress to stakeholders, including project managers, team members, and clients.
  • Identifying and escalating project issues and risks to the project management team.
  • Participating in project meetings and contributing to project discussions and decision-making.
  • Ensuring that project data is accurate and up-to-date, and maintaining project records in project management tools and systems.
  • Accustoming and following best practices, processes and systems documented and utilised in the company.
  • Contributing to new ideas and innovations for improvements in Project Controls
  • Being part of new systems developments and/or deployments for Project Controls

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering/commerce, construction management, or a related field with an interest in Project Controls and/or Project Management.
  • Knowledge of software tools commonly used in project controls, such as scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6), cost management software and document management systems is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyse project data and identify potential issues.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with project stakeholders and team members.
  • Attention to detail to ensure project information is accurate and up to date.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using computer software, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, cost management, risk management, and change management would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of construction, engineering, or related industries and the associated terminology and practices would be an advantage.
