About the role
- Principal Cloud Platform Engineer responsible for technical direction and architecture of cloud platform projects. Collaborating with teams and driving innovation in cloud solutions across projects.
Responsibilities
- Define the technical direction of the cloud platform and develop architecture principles.
- Collaborate closely with Tech Leads, Staff Engineers and Cloud Platform Engineers.
- Support teams in building infrastructure.
- Assist development teams in adopting and using the platform.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (typically around ten years) in developing and operating production software and cloud systems.
- Responsibility for architectural decisions and technical leadership roles.
- Experience evolving technical standards or platforms across multiple projects.
- DevOps mindset and experience working remotely.
- Clear communication with customers, Tech Leads and engineering teams.
- Structured and analytical problem-solving approach and transparency in technical challenges.
- Understanding of security and compliance requirements (ISO 27001 or similar).
- Willingness to take on on-call responsibilities for platform operations.
- Experience with technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Serverless, Pulumi or Terraform, GitHub or GitLab, Elastic Cloud, Prometheus or Grafana is a major plus.
- Good German language skills.
