Senior Component Engineer working on standardization of components for nuclear instrumentation in a hybrid role. Collaborating with engineering teams to enhance quality and support operations.
Responsibilities
Serve as a component engineer for standard electrical, electronic and mechanical components including identification of component specifications, resolution of supply issues and support to engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, testing and supply chain management.
Identity and promote process improvements and enhancements to increase quality of standard components, reducing rework, reducing costs and improving cycle time.
Develop and maintain databases and tools for managing standard components, processing part requests, evaluating trends, and reporting progress.
Support efforts to maintain the Parts Specification List
Provide training, coaching and/or consultation to various personnel on the application of standard components.
Mentor entry level engineers in specifying components.
Requirements
BS degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar)
Minimum of 4 years of experience in specifying electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
In depth knowledge of electronic component specifications, manufacturers and suppliers.
Working knowledge and design experience with MS Access.
Experience in design or manufacture of I&C systems preferred.
Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes preferred.
Experience in MRP/ERP material masters preferred.
