About the role

  • Graduate Project Engineer improving North American client productivity, delivering high-quality electrical and control engineering projects. Auditing facilities, designing systems, and working on innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades;
  • Design industrial MV and LV electrical power systems, including electrical room design, equipment specifications, motor control and grounding systems, and cable and raceway sizing and layouts;
  • Perform protection and control systems design and settings;
  • Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems;
  • Design, program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications;
  • Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning;
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Experience in industrial automation engineering an asset
  • Experience in pulp & paper; mining and/or chemical industries an asset
  • Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Registered as an EIT in British Columbia
  • Practical knowledge of North American standards
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).
