About the role
- Process Engineer delivering Process Engineering projects at Westinghouse Electric Company. Involved in process drawings, calculations, and documentation within the nuclear energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of identified Process Engineering deliverables across one or more projects.
- Report to the Principal Process Engineer and located at Westlakes or Springfields.
- Production of Process drawings: Process Flow Diagrams and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams/Engineering Flow Diagrams.
- Production of calculations including mass, energy and flow balances, pipe and equipment sizing utilising MS Excel, MathCAD, Pipenet, Aspen Custom Modeler or other software as required.
- Production of technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements etc.
- Participation in design meetings and technical reviews and presentation of technical solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector
- MEng preferred
- Chartered Engineer/incorporated or working towards and engaged on a programme of Continual Professional Development.
- Working knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives including (but not limited to) Pressure Equipment Regulations, COMAH, COSHH, DSEAR etc.
- An appreciation and understanding of the Construction & Design Management Regulations.
- Attention to detail and a high standard of verbal and written skills
- Communication and cooperation with the team and sub-contractors.
- Natural aptitude for undertaking engineering calculations, analysis and problem solving.
