About the role

  • Coordinator supporting talent marketing and client services at THE·TEAM, focusing on talent sales, public relations, and administrative operations in sports representation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day needs of talent marketing and baseball leadership, agents, clients, and other client service team members with a focus on talent sales and marketing, public relations and media strategies, and administrative operations during the development and execution of all client business affairs.
  • Participate in new business development efforts such as prospecting sales leads and marketing material development and help manage brand/agency relationships.
  • Provide high-level administrative support for clients and the marketing and services department, including tracking, organizing, scheduling, and coordinating administrative activities.
  • Work with talent marketing and baseball leadership and agents to identify talent priorities in an effort to generate brand partnership revenue across the MLB and MiLB roster.
  • Develop talent sales strategies and outreach in markets where The·Team athletes play and/or live that will help lead to endorsement deals.
  • Support marketing & partnerships staff related to prospecting, outreach, industry research, and sales materials.
  • Assist with securing endorsement opportunities for MLB and MiLB rosters.
  • Secure gifting, barter and trade partnerships in conjunction with marketing lead.
  • Manage various aspects of the athlete’s personal and commercial day-to-day life, including schedule, appointments, travel logistics, interviews, family and home affairs, and marketing commitments.
  • Help manage logistics leading up to talent shoots, public media appearances, charity initiatives and other key moments, including MLB All-Star Week and other tentpole events.
  • Travel domestically to spend face time with clients to support “off field” business affairs and build client relations.
  • Attend clients’ media events and photo shoots as needed to ensure client comfort and high-level execution of partnership.
  • Assist clients with charitable endeavors and event coordination.
  • Create and help maintain athlete’s marketing materials up to date.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including partnership invoice management and players’ equipment orders.
  • Work with The·Team legal to prepare and track talent agreements.
  • Maintain department databases and trackers and generate reports as required.
  • Conduct industry research and follow trends and industry news.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Bilingual strongly preferred (Spanish or Japanese)
  • Strong customer service skills to provide the best possible support to clients, brands, and internal team members
  • Must possess persuasiveness skills to successfully negotiate on behalf of clients’ interests
  • Flexibility in scheduling and a willingness to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Ability to prospect and research marketing partnerships on behalf of the clients
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Strong understanding of social and digital media landscape
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, leadership, and project management skills
  • Strong self-management and project management capabilities
  • Ability to build strong, lasting relationships internally and externally
  • Strong aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Self-starter with the need and resolve to succeed in a highly competitive market that requires both an entrepreneurial approach and ability to be a team player
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
