About the role
- Senior AI Engineer building core AI features for a tax advisory platform. Developing workflows and document intelligence functionalities while collaborating with a dynamic team in a hybrid setting.
Responsibilities
- Help build, own, and scale the AI layer of the product.
- Develop autonomous, multi-step workflows for tax processes (documents, deadlines, client communication).
- Implement extraction, classification, and analysis of tax-relevant documents (P&L statements, receipts, DATEV exports).
- Create structured LLM usage across internal and external APIs.
- Integrate DATEV API with semantic processing of financial data.
- Develop real-time financial analysis features (P&L analysis, liquidity planning, KPI dashboards).
Requirements
- Production-level experience with LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini — API-level, not just wrappers)
- Proficiency in tool use and function calling, RAG architectures, prompt engineering at scale
- Experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom implementations)
- Strong backend skills: Python or Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, database design
- Structured thinking when working with unstructured documents and complex data formats
- Familiarity with German tax or accounting context (DATEV, chart of accounts, P&L structure) (Nice to have)
- Experience with document parsing (PDFs, OCR, table extraction) (Nice to have)
- Comfort building in early-stage product environments (Nice to have)
