About the role

  • Responsible for accounting stock management at Veepee. Control purchases, inventory, reporting, and team supervision.

Responsibilities

  • The role is responsible for controlling purchases and inventory on a monthly basis, identifying necessary adjustments, and explaining variances to management control.
  • Perform regular reporting and monitor key indicators.
  • As part of continuous improvement within the scope, and following analysis of variances or anomalies, collaborate with other teams.
  • Participate in projects that impact the scope when required.
  • Oversee inventory processes and act as the point of contact for internal and external auditors.
  • Lead and be supported by a team.
  • Organization and coordination: plan and supervise the team's activities.
  • Ensure ongoing training and professional development of the team.
  • Define clear objectives for the team and track their achievement.
  • Supervise inventory accounting, including FNP (invoices not yet received / accruals) and calculation of inventory impairment/write-downs.
  • Monthly and annual closes: actively participate in periodic closes ensuring the accuracy of accounting data.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of FNP with purchases.
  • Analyze and explain variances identified with management control.
  • Maintain and update key performance indicators.
  • Prepare and communicate reports requested by the finance department.
  • Analyze post-close variations and initiate necessary corrective actions; reconcile balance sheet variances.
  • Identify and analyze post-close differences.
  • Hold regular meetings with other departments to discuss possible improvements.
  • Supervise physical inventory work and ensure data accuracy.

Requirements

  • Minimum: 2-year post-secondary diploma (Bac+2) or equivalent
  • 5 years' experience as an accountant
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Deadline-oriented, organized, detail-oriented
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with IT tools and systems
  • Fluent English required
