About the role

  • Service Sales Engineer driving initiatives for warehousing solutions in Australia and New Zealand. Engaging clients and building stakeholder relationships to develop tailored technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging with a diverse portfolio of clients to identify challenges, analyse system issues, and recommend innovative and practical solutions.
  • Translating customer requests into conceptual layouts and technical proposals, collaborating with engineers (mechanical, electrical, controls, and process), software specialists, product experts, and supply centres to create compelling offers.
  • Preparing detailed pricing, cost estimates, and project plans while coordinating with internal stakeholders (e.g., Pricing, Procurement, Planning, and Engineering) to ensure feasibility and alignment.
  • Contributing to service sales with the contract managers, defining opportunity strategies that align with life cycle plans, and presenting solutions to secure commitments.
  • Organizing successful project kick-offs with Service Project Managers, developing life-cycle plans, and occasionally managing or supervising RMR project implementations.
  • Supporting the professionalization of Service Sales Engineering in ANZ while working with the global team, sharing in-depth knowledge of Vanderlande equipment, and initiating continuous improvement actions for technical solutions.
  • Handling multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, including developing and executing plans for implementation, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

  • A technical bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales engineering, with a preference for brownfield projects.
  • Strong analytical skills to structure and solve logistical problems both practically and analytically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both verbal and written, in English.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks while addressing issues in real-world settings.
  • A collaborative approach, enthusiastic about working in multidisciplinary, international teams and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • A customer-centric focus ("service blood") and the persuasion skills to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in initiating continuous improvements related to technical solutions.
  • Experience developing and executing implementation, testing, and deployment plans.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% internationally and 30% locally/interstate within Australia and New Zealand.
