About the role

  • Landscape Architecture Intern at USU Extension helping communities plan and design resources. Supporting research communication and data analysis efforts with Extension Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the LAEP Extension Specialist in helping communities and organizations envision, plan, and design community resources.
  • Using the design process as well as applicable tools to investigate, design, and propose thoughtful, innovative, and thorough design solutions.
  • Producing high quality design and planning graphics such as rendered plan views, sections, photo-montages, and 3D renderings and associated presentation boards, reports, and documents.
  • Development and delivery (in-person and online) of curriculum focused on topics such as: water wise landscape design, trail planning and construction, and storm water management.
  • Professionally communicating with project partners and the public regarding the status and management of a project.
  • The intern will frequently be working with communities to develop design alternatives and presenting the intent and details of a proposed design in a public forum.

Requirements

  • Be an undergraduate student enrolled in the landscape architecture and environmental planning department
  • Have an interest in the Extension program
  • Be dependable
