About the role

  • Field Sales Payments Consultant at U.S. Bank negotiating discounts with fuel brands and supporting sales initiatives. Engaging in data analysis, relationship management, and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with fuel brands, distributors, individual merchants to negotiate discounts and support sales initiatives
  • Utilize and perform data analysis and reporting tools to track progress, identify key performance targets, and support strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate across the Merchant team, demonstrating flexibility to cross-train and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong relationship management skills are essential, with experience in customer or prospect-facing roles preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, including the ability to sort and analyze data, generate reports, and build pivot tables

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five or more years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to travel (local and regional, some national)
  • Well-developed sales and new business development skills
  • Thorough knowledge of unit payment products
  • Experience with Transportation, Fuel, or Corporate card products and services is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the organization and its products, services and operations
  • Basic knowledge of product marketing, client service issues, and organization operations
  • Strong marketing, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service/relation skills with ability to creatively resolve client concerns and issues
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles related to financial transactions
