- Head of Risk responsible for strategic integration of risk management in Upvest's operations. Leading risk framework development and compliance with regulatory standards while ensuring growth.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute a comprehensive framework that unifies financial and non-financial risks, ensuring alignment with our long-term business objectives
- Partner with the Management to shape the organization’s trajectory through high-level risk forecasts, strategic insights, and policy refinement
- Oversee capital and liquidity adequacy while ensuring total alignment with BaFin and FCA standards and evolving industry benchmarks
- Implement data-driven assessment techniques and predictive models to improve the precision of our risk quantification and early-warning systems
- Act as a senior advisor across the organization to embed a risk-aware mindset, integrating risk considerations into daily decision-making and workflows
- Serve as the point of contact for regulators, investors, and auditors, building trust through transparent and rigorous reporting
- Lead and build out a sophisticated risk department, fostering a culture of technical excellence and autonomy while staying ahead of global industry trends
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in risk management within fintech or financial services
- Proven ability to scale risk management practices in high-growth, fast-paced environments
- Comprehensive understanding of BaFin and FCA regulatory frameworks, including ICAAP, ILAAP, and ICARA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk mitigation
- Experience influencing and leading cross-functional stakeholders toward strategic impact
