Responsibilities
Performs a variety of design and development of integrated avionics and communications systems.
Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.
Must be able to defend work and design approach following a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Relies on applicable experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Works to place planning and reflection cadences into use across multiple project teams with the goal of synchronizing team members and activities.
Strives to increase the efficiency of development practices by guiding the flow, architecture, design quality, code quality, system quality, and release quality of deliverables.
Familiar with a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
Mentor junior engineering candidates in Systems Engineering best practices.
Develops/writes system test plans and procedures in accordance with industry standards (IEEE Standard for Software Test Documentation etc.).
Simulates end-user operations and executes test procedures.
Supports the generation of testable requirements and designs test bed architecture.
Writes detailed test cases and articulates results in chosen software development lifecycle management tool (e.g., Digital.ai Agility, JIRA etc.)
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an Engineering-related field.
US Citizenship is required to obtain a US Government Security Clearance and to access facilities required to perform work.
5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field, including proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
Experience with simulation tools and techniques for system design, analysis, and validation.
Prior experience with Army Command and Control (C2) systems such as IBCS, FAAD, THAAD etc.
3+ years of experience with tactical data links including Link 16
3+ years of experience with DoD radio communications systems
3+ years of experience with IP network design and maintenance
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of new product Life Cycle to include: system design, development, integration, test, delivery, product support and retirement
Hold the following certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Project+, CompTIA AeroIT.
Holds or willing to work towards Systems Engineering Professional Certification (e.g. INCOSE ASEP as a minimum)
