About the role

  • Engineering Lead managing a team to deliver high-impact projects for revenue operations. Overseeing backend development and ensuring seamless data integration across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior engineering leadership and the Revenue Product Manager to define and scope high-impact revenue-driving projects that improve operational efficiency and scale
  • Lead and manage a team of full-stack engineers (a mix of in-house leads and full-time overseas developers) to deliver results at a high level of quality
  • Make hands-on code contributions to your team's projects, balancing leadership with technical execution (~50/50 split)
  • Own the backend development for internal tools and platform capabilities that serve Revenue Operations, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance teams
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable systems that power customer lifecycle visibility, activation workflows, billing and pricing systems, and expansion/upsell tooling
  • Build and optimize systems that automate manual or fragmented internal processes, improving team efficiency and time-to-insight
  • Guide the growth and development of engineers with mentoring, training, and performance management
  • Drive cross-team collaboration and knowledge-sharing to break down silos between engineering and GTM teams
  • Ensure seamless data integration across internal systems, CRM, billing platforms, and the core Cents product
  • Collaborate with Design to create intuitive internal-facing interfaces that increase adoption, improve onboarding, and drive transparency across teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building business- and consumer-facing applications
  • Expert-level knowledge of backend frameworks, specifically Node.js (Laravel experience a plus)
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript for both backend (Node.js) and frontend (React) development
  • Experience building internal tools, admin systems, or operational platforms that support GTM or revenue operations
  • Demonstrable systems thinking skills.
  • Understands that internal tools are only one part of a larger system connecting customers, operations, and product
  • Strong background in API design and integration.
  • Knows what 'good' looks like and can drive platform connectivity through thoughtful API strategy
  • Experience with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, EC2, RDS) and cloud-based backend architectures
  • Deep understanding of data integration and synchronization, especially when connecting CRM, billing, and product systems
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Fluent verbal and written English skills
  • Passion for learning and coaching others

  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to clearly express opinions on product design, while respecting the thoughts and opinions of their peers
  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with engineers and non-engineering stakeholders alike
