About the role
- Attorney providing legal support for the Equipment Finance Group at Truist. Engage in drafting, reviewing contracts, and legal advising while collaborating with internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain strong, productive relationships with key internal clients
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor, legal risk manager, and business partner
- Provide legal support for the Equipment Finance Group
- Draft, review, and negotiate non-standard legal documentation
- Update standard legal documentation continuously
- Coordinate with and supervise external attorneys
- Undertake legal research and analysis as required
- Stay informed about the U.S. equipment finance industry
- Draft and review Truist risk management policies and procedures
- Manage and assist with legal training projects
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school
- Excellent academic credentials
- Current membership in good standing with a state bar
- 5-10 years of relevant commercial equipment finance experience at a law firm and/or in-house law department
- Preferred experience in a financial services institution or equipment finance business
- Demonstrated in-depth technical knowledge of commercial equipment loan and lease financing
- Ability to collaborate with Legal Department colleagues and staff
- Self-starter organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Readiness to develop legal skills and expand legal knowledge into new substantive areas of law
