Responsibilities
Lead the planning and implementation of Information and Communication Technologies as a member of a multi-disciplinary redevelopment team
Ensure clinical and non-clinical ICT service delivery, workflow processes, and existing strategic and tactical ICT plans are consistent with the organization’s overall vision
Collaborate with staff on departmental/service plans to facilitate alignment between equipment, workflow, facility design and enabling technologies
Oversee the implementation of the FFE/ICAT requirements – network, software and hardware both centrally (data server) and locally (departmental list requirements) to support all ICT functionalities and the necessary ICT interfaces to support clinical functionality of equipment procured for the Projects
Provides leadership in collaboration with other members of the Project Team, to ensure all equipment and related project activities are managed, coordinated and meet required standards
Ensures that all hospital equipment inventories are kept up to date and aligns with transferable Project list
Leads in the evaluation of furniture & equipment and ensures constant involvement with staff & physicians
Oversee the administration, and procurement of equipment through of THP’s Managed Equipment Service contract
Ensure all obligations under both Project Agreements are understood, planned for and achieved
Lead and/or support the development of materials, such as reports, briefing notes, requests for proposals, presentations, data analyses and communications for the project(s)
Work closely with various HealthWorks projects teams, and Project Control Office, to ensure seamless coordination of material development
Monitor and report on progress, problems and solutions of the project to all stakeholders and escalate issues as appropriate
Engage with external project supports and act as a key point of contact for coordination of activities
Participate in various meetings such as Board of Directors, Project Governance, User Groups as necessary
Other duties assigned, as required to meet timelines and deliverables
Requirements
Undergraduate degree required; business, engineering, technology or related discipline preferred
Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, healthcare administration, information systems or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum 10 years of experience in project management in healthcare environments such as hospitals, government or private sector required
Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing local and remote teams, full time staff, contractors and vendors
Strong understanding of the Information and Communication Technologies in a hospital environment
Experience working with the Ontario Ministry of Health’s capital planning process and/or Infrastructure Ontario’s AFP/P3 framework is considered an asset
Must have project management or equipment and furniture coordination experience in a recent (with the last 5 years) IO procured hospital redevelopment project
Must have experience in the selection, specification, or procurement of hospital equipment and furniture within the last 5 years
Expertise in integrating hospital equipment with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other clinical information platforms
Proven experience in deploying and managing secure hospital networks, including Wi-Fi and wired infrastructure, and ensuring data confidentiality and integrity
Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance in healthcare settings, including PHIPA and HIPAA standards
Experience implementing advanced medical device connectivity and interoperability solutions, such as HL7, DICOM, or FHIR
Ability to evaluate, select, and oversee installation of new IT systems and hospital technologies, including cloud-based applications and telehealth platforms
Demonstrated proficiency in managing large-scale software and hardware rollouts in a healthcare environment
Experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and supporting ongoing technology maintenance and upgrades
Strong understanding of the hospital’s strategic plan
Strong leadership, adaptability, interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential for this role, including the ability to build strong relationships
