About the role

  • Lead Product Designer developing customer growth initiatives for Trainline’s rail services. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer engagement and value propositions.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape how Trainline’s evolving business model comes to life through customer experience, translating strategy into propositions and experiences that feel clear and valuable
  • Lead design across a set of ‘Customer Growth’ initiatives that together define how customers engage with, pay for and get value from Trainline
  • Work closely with Product, Commercial, Data and Engineering partners to explore, validate and deliver new propositions across web and app, ensuring customer needs and business goals are considered together from the outset
  • Line-manage and mentor designers in this space, setting direction and raising the quality bar
  • Use insight, craft and data to continuously improve outcomes, playing a key role in shaping the future of Product Growth at Trainline

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading Product Design or UX within consumer-facing digital products
  • Experience working on growth-oriented or commercially impactful areas, such as value propositions, pricing, subscriptions or customer lifecycle
  • Strong hands-on design skills, with high proficiency in Figma and a passion for craft and quality
  • Experience designing and iterating through data-informed experimentation
  • Confidence designing for mobile apps and responsive web, with strong visual and interaction design foundations
  • Experience line-managing and mentoring designers, fostering clarity, confidence and collaboration
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to align partners around complex ideas
  • A proactive, self-starting mindset with strong collaboration across Product, Engineering and Commercial teams
  • Curiosity around AI-enabled tools and workflows, and how they can improve design effectiveness
