AI Governance & Operations Intern supporting T-Mobile's Responsible AI initiatives through project collaboration and governance process implementation. Gain hands-on experience in AI governance program management and policy implementation.
Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of AI governance processes, such as model inventory tracking, documentation standards, and responsible AI assessments.
Help maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms that monitor AI model compliance, risk indicators, and ethical review workflows.
Research and summarize emerging AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework) and identify implications for T-Mobile’s AI practices.
Assist in process documentation, ensuring operational clarity and version control for governance procedures.
Participate in meetings across AI Strategy, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering, helping ensure that governance decisions are communicated and tracked effectively.
Contribute to executive presentations and communications that summarize program progress and highlight governance maturity metrics.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for AI operations — simplifying workflows, surfacing insights, and aligning governance to strategic AI priorities.
Requirements
Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Public Policy, Cognitive Science, Business Administration, or related fields.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with an ability to manage details across multiple workstreams.
Interest in AI ethics, responsible AI, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when distilling technical or policy topics for diverse audiences.
Self-starter mindset — curious, collaborative, and eager to learn from cross-functional experts.
At least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
High School Diploma or GED.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a degree program and have at least one semester remaining following the internship.
