About the role

  • Data Scientist implementing AI solutions in areas like remote sensing and geoprocessing at Imagem Geosistemas. Collaborating with teams to provide actionable insights and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular tasks such as: understanding the business problem, defining solution requirements, data exploration, training and running Deep Learning and Machine Learning models, statistical and geostatistical analyses, configuring automated data processing pipelines, and preparing reports and dashboards.
  • Understand business needs, provide actionable insights and recommendations based on analyses, and translate them into proposed solutions.
  • Fully apply your knowledge and skills to extract data from sources of diverse origins, tools and formats, including spatio-temporal data.
  • Apply pattern recognition techniques, including but not limited to computer vision, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), language models for natural language processing (NLP), AI assistants and agents integrated with Large Language Models (LLMs), as well as data analysis and predictive analytics (ML).
  • Apply remote sensing techniques to define solutions for land use and land cover mapping through computer vision for interpretation of satellite and/or radar imagery.
  • Test and validate data science solutions to ensure their effectiveness, quality and compliance with requirements.
  • Stay up to date with trends and advances in data science.
  • Participate in and promote technical discussions and ideation/innovation processes, contributing to an environment of trust, autonomy and exchange that fosters creativity.
  • Collaborate with the Data Science team in building solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree or specialization in Mathematics, Exact Sciences, Earth Sciences, Remote Sensing, Cartographic Engineering, Information Technology or related fields.
  • Proficiency in a programming language focused on data manipulation (Python).
  • Concepts of statistics and geostatistics.
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms.
  • Experience with AI assistants and agents integrated with LLMs.
  • Handling spatio-temporal data (geographic data with a temporal component).
  • Desirable knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, geoprocessing and spatial analysis.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
