About the role
- Lead Data Governance Analyst at Disney focusing on data stewardship and governance policies. Overseeing initiatives for compliance and best practice data management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage data governance initiatives ensuring timely completion and delivery
- Communicate and present data governance initiatives and progress to senior management
- Author data policies, processes, and procedures per best practice data management standards
- Monitor and audit data governance processes to ensure compliance with policies and standards
- Partner with Data Stewards for data ownership and compliance
- Advocate for data governance initiatives across the organization
- Provide training and support to stakeholders to increase data literacy
- Mentor and coach junior team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and/or equitable experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Quality, or Metadata Management disciplines
- Deep understanding of Data Governance principles, policies, and best practices; knowledge of data ownership, data classification, metadata management, and compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA
- Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent follow-up skills and the ability to take initiative
- Experience with a data catalog tool such as Alation, Collibra, or Informatica Axon
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects, competing priorities, working independently
