Oversees daily underwriting activities, including workflow, turnaround, productivity, escalations and quality monitoring
Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
Manages employees in lower complexity lanes
Helps with the selection process, orientation, compensation decisions and performance reviews of staff members
Conducts staff meetings and individual one on one monthly meetings with underwriters
Underwrites and decisions loans that are escalated by their team
Performs other duties as may be assigned
Provides exceptional customer service, congruent with WOW! Philosophies to customers, vendors and other institutions
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or work experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree required
10+ Years of related experience
In-depth knowledge and understanding of bank operations, department policies, procedures, products, services, systems and applications
Proven ability to interact with all TD Bank and departmental customers
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent PC skills and familiarity with standard office equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment a must
Detail-oriented, self-motivated and has excellent customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven supervisory experience, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills
