About the role

  • Production Manager leading production team to meet schedules and quality objectives at TC Transcontinental. Ensuring safe work environment and driving continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on packaging.

Responsibilities

  • Create value at TC Transcontinental by leading the activities of the production team to meet or exceed production schedules, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Partner with process and quality engineers to resolve quality issues and to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion and foster a safe work environment by adhering to all safety and regulatory procedures.
  • Ensure all regulatory and OSHA standards are implemented and adhered to.
  • Communicate with Operations Manager on daily basis, and with functional departments, and other internal customers to accurately plan and manage the short-range schedule.
  • Utilize lean and/or continuous improvement methodologies to identify and facilitate process improvements that lead to sustainable on time delivery performance and lead time reduction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/directed.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Packaging or Management preferred and/or a combination of experience and training may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in the field of flexible packaging converting and printing with knowledge of flexographic printing and lamination processes with thin gauge films preferred.
  • Experience with statistical methods and extensive experience Lean Manufacturing
  • Communicates effectively one to one and in small groups.
  • Easily articulates ideas and needs, so people at all levels can understand.
  • Highly organized and self-directed with an ability to prioritize projects combine with the ability to provide and receive Analytical and critical thinking skills with an aptitude to quickly absorb new procedures and new industry advancement.
