Responsibilities
Providing support and assistance to patent attorneys in the Intellectual Property Department
Helping manage the department’s caseload of private clients while meeting the unique needs of each attorney
Accurately completing work assigned by multiple attorneys
Assisting with the preparation of provisional, non-provisional and design patent applications
Filing applications in the US Patent and Trademark Office and WIPO
Preparing and filing responses to Office Actions, assignments, and other documents with the USPTO
Preparing documentation for filing patent applications in other countries
Working with the attorneys to ensure all due dates are met in advance
Establishing and maintaining electronic files according to current firm policies
Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies, and procedures
Performing other related duties as assigned or needed
Requirements
A High School Diploma or equivalent
4 years College degree preferred
5 years of patent prosecution experience
Demonstrates an in-depth understanding and advanced proficiency of task-specific patent prosecution concepts, procedures, and best practices
Knowledge of trademark filing procedures in the US Patent and Trademark Office is a plus
Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication, analytical, planning, and proofreading skills
Detail-oriented, efficient, and reliable
Maintains a “can do” attitude, patience, and a positive team player mentality
Ability to work both independently, with a team, and in a demanding and fast-paced environment
Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects and shift priorities simultaneously
Works effectively with various types of clients
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams; iManage, and Adobe
