About the role

  • Quality Assurance Engineer developing testing strategies and automation frameworks at a leading media outlet in Berlin. Collaborating with teams to maintain quality standards and drive continuous improvements in QA processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the system under test and build domain expertise
  • Define and enforce quality standards in collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Design teams
  • Develop test automation frameworks using tools such as Robot Framework and Playwright to ensure reliable, scalable, and maintainable test coverage
  • Leverage AI-assisted testing approaches to advance QA processes
  • Document QA strategies and results to foster a learning environment and scale QA knowledge across the team
  • Drive continuous improvements in the testing process, implement automation, and integrate best practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing
  • Proactive, hands-on working style with a strong ownership mindset
  • Proven experience in test automation for web applications using Playwright and Robot Framework
  • Initial experience with AI/LLMs to extend traditional QA approaches
  • Confident working knowledge of GitHub
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools, e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions
  • Experience in agile environments, especially Scrum and Kanban
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as New Relic or Sentry
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and the role of testing in each phase
  • Experience producing test documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong curiosity and a solution-oriented approach
  • Experience in exploratory and manual testing, with attention to edge cases and complex workflows
  • Python skills and experience with tools such as Selenium, Appium, Android Studio, or Xcode (a plus)
