About the role

  • Associate Legal Counsel at Tabby managing legal agreements and collections litigation in the UAE fintech sector. Collaborating with teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, merchant agreements, and vendor contracts
  • Provide legal support to internal teams including HR (employment matters), Business Development, Marketing (partnership agreements), and Operations
  • Collaborate with Risk and Collection teams to prevent disputes and manage resolution processes which includes managing all aspects of debt collections, including issuing legal notices, following up with debtors and coordinating with external parties
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents related to debt collection and fraud litigation
  • Research legal issues related to debt collection and fraud under UAE laws and regulations including UAE Civil Law to support legal strategies
  • Oversee collections and fraud litigation matters with UAE courts and external counsel
  • Assist with streamlining legal workflows and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
  • Licensed to practice law in the UAE (admission to the UAE courts or DIFC/ADGM if desirable but not strictly required)
  • 2–4 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably in the UAE, with exposure to litigation and fintech/financial services sectors
  • Strong knowledge of UAE commercial and civil law, particularly in debt collections, fraud matters, and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven experience managing collections litigation and fraud cases
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management platforms and legal technology tools is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic;
  • Attention to detail with proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • High level of professional integrity, discretion, and sound judgment
