About the role

  • RF Engineer leading and supervising RF technical activities for satellite ground and space systems with hands-on leadership and expertise in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Act as technical lead for RF systems supporting satellite communications and payload operations
  • Design, analyze, and optimize RF architectures for space-to-ground links, space payloads, ground stations, and antenna farms
  • Lead RF performance analysis, including link budgets, interference analysis, and system margin assessments
  • Supervise and mentor RF Technicians, assigning work, reviewing results, and ensuring adherence to procedures and best practices
  • Develop and maintain technician training materials, task qualifications, and lab safety standards
  • Coordinate technician staffing for test events, operations support, and maintenance windows
  • Lead RF integration and test activities for spacecraft, payloads, and ground systems
  • Oversee setup, calibration, and maintenance of RF test equipment and lab infrastructure
  • Support antenna farm operations, including pointing, calibration, maintenance, and anomaly resolution
  • Collaborate with systems, software, and operations teams to support end-to-end TT&C and payload communications testing
  • Own and maintain RF documentation, including ICDs, test procedures, calibration records, and configuration baselines
  • Support technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and operational readiness reviews
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and security requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering or related field and 6+ years of experience in RF engineering, preferably in satellite, aerospace, or high-reliability systems
  • Proven experience leading or supervising technical staff or technicians
  • Strong background in satellite communications, ground station RF systems, and antenna architectures
  • Hands-on expertise with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters)
  • Solid understanding of RF fundamentals, modulation schemes, and signal integrity
  • Ability to work across disciplines and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Active Top Secret security clearance is required.
