About the role
- Lead accounting operations ensuring financial compliance and accuracy at an innovative company. Drive process improvements using technology and oversee financial reporting with a strategic approach.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure timely reporting to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Direct and manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes to maintain healthy cash flow and vendor relationships.
- Analyze financial data for patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Provide actionable insights and recommend corrective measures to improve performance and mitigate risks.
- Responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the annual budget process to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial policies and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Identify and implement methods to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Leverage our financial system and emerging AI tools to optimize workflows and reporting.
- Manage sales tax operations, filings, and ensure accurate reporting and timely payments across multiple states.
- Oversee annual state filings and maintain compliance with all jurisdictions.
- Ensure accurate payroll reporting and compliance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
- In-office at our East Hanover location for a minimum of 3 days per week
- Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of federal and state tax laws.
- Detailed knowledge of GAPP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and familiarity with AI-driven financial tools.
