About the role

  • Mental Health Case Management Consultant optimizing approaches for mental health disability claims at Sun Life. Providing expert consultation and support for case managers, enhancing claim outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Play a crucial role in optimizing our approach to mental health disability claims.
  • Provide expert consultation and support for Disability Case Managers (DCMs), Rehabilitation Consultants (RC), and Case Management Consultants (CMC).
  • Conduct thorough file reviews to identify individual, office and/or regional trends pertaining to mental health claims.
  • Collaborate with the national Mental Health Team to identify national trends, develop interactive educational / training programs, and create resources and job aids.
  • Facilitate and participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and complex claim rounds.
  • Systematically track, collect, and analyze data from claim consultations/reviews to evaluate success indicators.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment methodologies, and case management strategies, with 5-7 years of experience in related fields.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Disability Case Manager (DCM) required with a proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in case formulation, treatment planning, and understanding the impact of symptoms on functionality.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of excellence level in case management progression model
  • Experienced mentored coaching.
  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleague.
