About the role

  • Junior Game Designer supporting feature design and game balancing on live strategy games. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and learn from senior designers in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support feature design by working on tasks owned by Senior or Regular Designers
  • Help with game balancing (units, costs, rewards) using spreadsheets, playtests, and data
  • Create and maintain clear design documentation (mechanics, edge cases, tooltips)
  • Learn from live games by analyzing player feedback, metrics, and in-game behavior
  • Collaborate with Tech, Art, QA, and UI/UX to bring features to life
  • Playtest regularly, identify issues, and suggest improvements
  • Grow your design skills through hands-on work, mentorship, and feedback
  • Take initiative within your scope by spotting improvements and contributing ideas

Requirements

  • A strong passion for strategy games, especially complex or long-term systems
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • High attention to detail in design, balancing, and documentation
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets
  • Curiosity, self-motivation, and eagerness to learn and improve
  • Nice to Have: A portfolio with projects, mods, prototypes, or game jam work
  • Experience with free-to-play games, progression systems, or live operations
  • Familiarity with Unity
  • Experience in QA or playtesting
